Myles Garrett injury: Rams star to miss at least four games after knee surgery
Myles Garrett admitted his knee was not fully healthy after Los Angeles opened its season with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers
Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett is set to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery and will be placed on injured reserve, according to reports.
Sources told ESPN and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday that the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year will miss at least four games.
Garrett could return for the Rams’ Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The 30-year-old admitted his knee was not fully healthy after Los Angeles opened its season with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.
Garrett described his performance as "the worst version of myself that I've put out there."
"I've got to find a way to recover and get back to the player I know I can be and I've shown that I've been before," Garrett said Friday.
He missed most of training camp because of knee swelling. Rams coach Sean McVay previously confirmed the issue, although Garrett has not said which knee is injured.
THe Rams acquired Garrett from the Cleveland Browns during the offseason, sending Jared Verse and three draft picks, including a 2027 first-round selection, to Cleveland.
Garrett recorded an NFL single-season record 23 sacks for the Browns last season.
