King Charles turns down Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's latest demand

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want to be referred to as "public figures," but King Charles would "never relent" to their request.

"The King is never going to relent simply because Harry and Meghan dislike being described as private citizens," an insider spilled to RadarOnline.com on Friday.

"There is a concern that formally accepting their preferred description of 'public figures' could potentially be seized upon by Harry as supporting his argument over security," a tipster added. "Charles does not want Palace language becoming ammunition in another dispute."

This dispute arose when the Lord Chamberlainissued guidance clarifying that Harry and Meghan remained "non-working royals" and designating them as "private citizens."

"Following the decision by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to relocate to the UK, we have received a number of requests for guidance," the latter read. "To help avoid doubt or confusion, the King has directed that the following information be shared."

"In January 2020, the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of the sovereign, and are no longer working members of the Royal Family," it added.

It is worth mentioning here that the Sussex family returned to the UK last month after spending six years in California.
