Buckingham Palace marks 25 anniversary of tragic 9/11
King Charles honored those affected by 9/11.
On Friday, the palace guards paid tribute to the lives lost in the tragic incident. On behalf of the monarch, the official Instagram handle of the British royal family posted a video clip showing the Band of the Coldstream Guards performing songs includingHymn to the Fallen.
The caption read, “Remembering all those affected by the tragic events of 9/11, 25 years ago today.”
It continued, “A commemorative Guard Change took place on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace this morning, during which The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester took the Royal Salute on behalf of The King.”
“The ceremony included performances of both US and UK National Anthems, Hymn to the Fallen and Amazing Grace.”
“Earlier this year, Their Majesties paid their respects at the 9/11 Memorial in New York, as part of the State Visit to the United States,” the caption concluded.
