'James Bond' star Pierce Brosnan set to leave Malibu home over wildfire fears
The actor also has a secondary residence in Kauai, Hawaii
Pierce Brosnan, famed for formerly playing the 007 role, is vacating his mansion in Malibu, California, over the fear that his property will be engulfed by an expected wildfire.
The 73-year-old actor, who has a second home in Kauai, Hawaii, revealed that he has now decided to leave his primary residence after it has come closer to being destroyed by wildfires several times.
"We’ve been spared by the fires a few times now. But I think it’s time to move. Everything changes; everything falls apart," the actor told The Times newspaper.
He went on to say, "We live by this body of earth’s water on a fault in a ring of earthquakes. That creates a fear."
Further sharing about the location, Pierce noted, "I think the two of us are somewhat reclusive. It’s a long way into town. We have a small circle of friends here [but] people get divorced, they die, they move on. And we’re still here."
Pierce also pointed at another issue he is facing with his Malibu home that maintain the home is costing him a lot of money.
He explained, "There have been doldrums. I have this beautiful house in Malibu. I have to pay the mortgage. There are school fees. There are definite moments of, oh, this boat is not quite sinking, but [it might] if we don’t get a job soon."
