Charlie Hunnam reveals how dreams sparked his 'Sons of Anarchy' return

Charlie Hunnam got the idea for his new Sons of Anarchy series in his dreams.

The 46-year-old actor revealed in a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter that he saw “several dreams” that inspired him to make Legends.

As Hunnam will play himself in the meta-thriller series, he explained how the idea for the show came about.

Hunnam shared, "[It was] really born out of me having several dreams over a period of time about us all being back together.

“Obviously something in my subconscious was yearning for that experience — to have another creative process with that group of people that I loved. So I wrote something that would allow that to happen.”

But Hunnam made it clear that Legends is “definitely not season 8 of Sons of Anarchy”.

"It’s the same group of actors, but we are all playing ourselves, going on a mad adventure, and coming together after 10 years apart, although maintaining deep friendship in that time," he explained.

For the unversed Hunman will reunite with his former co-stars Maggie Siff, Ron Perlman, Mark Boone Junior, Katey Sagal, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi for the spin-off.

A synopsis of the story reads, “When the cast of Sons of Anarchy reunites at a fan convention after more than a decade, the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood finds itself up against a real-world threat more dangerous than anything they ever faced in their show.”
