Jimmy Kimmel's future on 'Live!' laid bare as ABC makes shocking decision

Jimmy Kimmel is not going anywhere.

Despite multiple reports suggesting Jimmy Kimmel Live! is going to end, sources now confirm that ABC Network wants Jimmy to stay.

“ABC absolutely wants Jimmy back,” one insider told Naughty But Nice. “Nobody is canceling him, nobody is pushing him out, and there is no farewell plan."

"ABC wants to extend his contract. Jimmy is the one who hasn’t decided," the source added.

For those unversed, Jimmy's current contract with the ABC network expires in May 2027.

As per the insider, the 58-year-old TV host may not be interested in another long-term contract, but there is a possibility of a short extension to the current term that could keep him on the show until 2029.

And US president Donald Trump may be a key factor.

“Jimmy really doesn’t want to leave while Trump is still president,” the confidant said. “After years of going after Trump on-air, the idea of walking away while he’s still in the White House doesn’t sit well with Jimmy."

"The last thing he wants is Trump claiming victory and saying he drove Jimmy off television," a tipster continued.

“A deal through 2029 would make sense,” the source added. “ABC would happily sign it tomorrow. Jimmy has earned the right to decide when he leaves — and right now, he hasn’t decided to leave.”
