Apple is set to unveil its first-ever foldable iPhone at a major launch event on Wednesday-a significant milestone as it will be the first major product presentation by new CEO John Ternus.

This event will be the most substantial realignment product since it removed the physical home button from the iPhone X in 2017.

The keynote comprehensive presentation is also the first extended commentary from Ternus who previously worked as Apple’s hardware chief but has a relatively low profile despite leading a series of product launches and sustainability projects.

Analysts also expect Apple to capitalize on the late-mover advantage in the foldable smartphone market by mastering core technical obstacles such as creating an elegant sturdy hinge that can survive continuous window switching.

One outstanding problem could be how well the devices resist dust and water. Nonetheless, analysts expect Apple to display new watches, they also predict the company will hold off on updating its more affordable iPhone models until next year, keeping significant focus on the new folding device and its iPhone Pro and Pro Max lineup.
