Apple event 2026 leaks: Phone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch 12

Apple's first foldable phone has a name, a price tag and, as of this week, an entirely new person introducing it to the world. The company's "Surprise and Shine" event lands today with the iPhone Duo expected as its headline act, and it's the first keynote helmed by incoming CEO John Ternus rather than Tim Cook.

iPhone Foldable Duo

The device, long rumoured as the iPhone Ultra before Apple reportedly settled on iPhone Duo, is expected to open into a roughly 7.8-inch display with a 5.5-inch outer screen, closer in shape to an iPad than a phone when unfolded.

A magnetic hinge, support for the Apple Pencil and dual 48-megapixel rear cameras are all tipped for the launch model. Pricing is the real headline: a $2,000 starting point for 256GB, climbing toward $3,000 at the top end, with memory shortages reportedly forcing Apple to absorb part of the cost increase itself.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

Unlike the foldable, the Pro line isn't getting reinvented. The Dynamic Island is expected to shrink slightly while gaining the ability to show three live activities instead of two, and both models are tipped to run on Apple's A20 Pro chip with a redesigned vapour chamber for better heat management.

The Pro Max is rumoured to be getting an exclusive variable aperture camera, giving photographers more control over depth of field, a first for the iPhone lineup.

Apple Watch and AirPods

The Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 aren't expected to look dramatically different, but a new Readiness app is tipped to mine heart rate and blood oxygen data for daily insights, echoing what Whoop and Oura already offer. AirPods 5 are also expected, with better noise cancellation, though the camera-equipped earbuds Apple reportedly considered for this event have apparently been pushed to next year.
