Meghan Markle's UK plans put Prince Harry's royal deal in doubt

Meghan Markle's ambitions may have gotten in the way of Prince Harry's return to royal life.

On Tuesday, an insider spilled to RadarOnline.com that the Duchess of Sussex'sambitions to rebuild her public image in the UK have effectively dashed any hopes of a "half-in, half-out" royal role.

For those unware, Harry and Meghan moved back to Britain last month, and they were expected to participate in a series of charitable activities.

But King Charles has now issued formal instructions, emphasizing that they will remain private citizens.

"There was growing concern that Meghan's enthusiasm and ambitions to become publicly active again could create precisely the ambiguity the Sandringham agreement was designed to prevent," a royal source claimed.

"The Sussexes can have an enormous public profile, but that cannot be confused with having a royal role," the insider added.

Charles issued a letter on September 4, clarifying that Harry and Meghan can't use the royal titles.

"Following the decision by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to relocate to the UK, we have received a number of requests for guidance," the letter, written by Lord Chamberlain Lord Benyon, read. "To help avoid doubt or confusion, the King has directed that the following information be shared.

"In January 2020, the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of the sovereign, and are no longer working members of the Royal Family," it added.
