Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s daughter Rory lifts the lid on her 'wonderful' aim in life

Rory Kennedy recently revealed that her influential family is the reason behind her career choice.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine to promote Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing, the youngest daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Ethel Kennedy shared that she always wanted to tell tales that create an impact on audiences.

Rory told the outlet that her family pushed her to follow her dream and create this world, a better place filled with “compassion.”

She explained, “I think that I grew up in my family as I did, and I think organically from that felt a desire to have a life that would contribute and to hopefully create a bit more compassion in the world and a deeper understanding of people and what they go through and challenges they face and some social issues to draw attention to those.”

“Then I think also growing up in my family, there are a lot of wonderful storytellers in the mix, and so I think I got the hook of that.”

“Honestly, I think I grew up at a time, was graduating college just at the time where cable was being introduced. There was a plethora of channels and content out there and 24-hour news for the first time. I think that it was the combination of those things that led me to the path of filmmaking and documentary in particular,” the American Hollow director recalled.

It is pertinent to mention that Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing opened in select US theatres on August 14, 2026, and it premiered on Netflix on August 19, 2026.
