Adria Arjona explains why losing 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' role was blessing in disguise

Adria Arjona, famed for starring opposite Glen Powell in crime-comedy Hit Man, revealed that she nearly starred as Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

But the Blink Twice actress confessed that she is "thankful" she lost the role to Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, because she might have never landed Bix Caleen's role in the Star Wars live-action streaming series Andor.

Recalling her 2018 Star Wars auditions on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on Monday, Adria said, "I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my life. They put you in a suit, and my biggest dream ever was to be in a Star Wars movie. To be testing, it's like, 'Oh my God, it's gonna be me.'"

Despite the fact that she had the "insane" opportunity to lead in the 2018 Hans Solo prequel film, Adria believes she "just wanted to be in Star Wars"at the time.

"I never thought about the sequels or anything. It was more the emotional attachment of, 'Will I ever be in just Star Wars?'" Adria noted.

Eventually, Emilia Clarke got the role and it made "total sense" to Adria as she gushed over Emilia, calling her "amazing."

"She's probably one of the best actresses out there." Adria added.

Now Adria is glad the role slipped out her hands because her casting as Qi'ra would have ruled her out of playing Bix Caleen in Andor.

"I'm so thankful that I didn't get it. I wouldn't have been in Andor, and Bix is, you know, the only character I've tattooed on my body," she remarked.
