Meghan Markle's Hollywood return sparks fresh controversy

Stars of The Gentlemen have dismissed claims that Meghan Markle might join the hit crime drama, labeling the widespread rumors of her return to acting as a "PR stunt."

Rumors about the Duchess of Sussex's return to acting intensified after she and Prince Harry returned to Britain with their children.

However, the cast of Guy Ritchie's series has denied rumors that Meghan is joining the show.

Regarding this situation, an industry source now claims that "There is growing skepticism about where this story actually came from. When virtually every actor associated with the production says they know nothing about Meghan joining, people inevitably wonder whether her name has simply been attached to a successful show to generate publicity around her return to Britain."

"It seems like a total PR stunt, and trolls are saying Meghan's people were behind it," the insider told RadarOnline.com.

Vinnie Jones was the first actor to dismiss the possibility of Meghan making a cameo appearance in the latest The Gentlemen series.

"I think it's hot air," he said. "We've got a lot of pretty women in this series, so I'm not sure there's room for any more."

Theo James also shut down the rumors that Meghan is joining The Gentlemen series.

"No. Prince Harry is playing one of my love interests. So that's the Meghan Markle thing," he joked.

"I think it's a spurious rumor. She'd fit in well because she's actually from the Royal Family, but I think the practicalities of that are impossible," he added.
