Jim Thornton breaks silence after shocking 'Wheel of Fortune' suspension

Jim Thornton has denied allegations of misconduct after being suspended as the announcer for the popular game show Wheel of Fortune.

The TV personality's attorney told TMZ on Wednesday that Jim “did not engage in any illegal conduct, was not arrested, and has not been charged with any crime.

“When questioned about the complaint made by a fellow passenger on the flight, law enforcement spoke to him for five minutes or less, immediately determined that no wrongdoing had occurred and told my client he was free to go,” Jim's lawyer continued.

For those unversed, Jim was suspended from Wheel of Fortune on September 1.

“He has been suspended from Wheel of Fortune and we are recasting while we conduct a thorough investigation,” the Sony Pictures Television said in a statement.

The studio has not revealed further details at this time.

According to the latest report, these allegations relate to an incident that allegedly occurred during a commercial flight in May.

The report states that, during the flight, a passenger complained to a flight attendant about Jim.

“On May 14, American Airlines Flight 1276 was met by law enforcement upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) following concerns reported by a customer onboard,” American Airlines said in a statement to People magazine.

It is worth mentioning that Jim joined Wheel of Fortune as an announcer in 2011, following the death of Charlie O’Donnell.
