Reese Witherspoon offers heartfelt advice to young women

Reese Witherspoon is empowering young women by sharing some lessons she learned during her younger years.

The Legally Blonde actress took to her Instagram and continued her series of "Things I wish Every Young Woman Knew."

In the carousel shared along the post, the first slide showed young Reese posing with her corgi on the set of Legally Blonde.

She began to advise young women on the second slide, which read, "Choose happiness...My mother taught me that happiness is a gift you give yourself every day. You can't control what happens, but you can choose to look for the good."

The third slide talked about "Opinions don't matter," as the message continued, "The sooner you figure out that other people's opinions of you are none of your business, you become free. Totally free."

The next piece of advice was about protecting ambitions.

"The game of life is not you against them. It's a multiplayer game. It's all there for you. But comparison will steal your ambition," the fourth slide read.

She also told young women to "not look for trouble."

The fifth slide read, "Not every piece of information needs to be investigated, discussed or turned into a problem. Sometimes you can just leave it alone."

The sixth slide said, "Do the hard things. Even on hard days. If we do it now, we don't have to do it later. You can do it. And it will change your whole life."

In the last slide that read, "Always give back", Reese gave a nod to Olivia Rodrigo after she raised $20 million at the Daisy Chain Festival, which will be donated to nonprofits supporting women and girls.
