Olivia Rodrigo hits major milestone as all-women festival raises $20 million

Olivia Rodrigo has raised nearly 20 million in the inaugural event of her all-women festival.

On Saturday, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter led the fundraising event, Daisy Chain Fields festival, attended by stars like Chappell Roan, Rachel Chinouriri, Doechii, and many more.

The agenda behind the fundraising is to support the charities working and advancing for women and girls.

Before setting the stage on fire with her performance, the Driver’s License singer took a moment to express gratitude to the attendees and the generous donors at the event, including philanthropist Melinda French Gates, ex wife of Bill Gates.

Half of the 20 millions dollar were donated by Melinda.

Olivia began, “(There are) 45,000 people at this festival tonight, can you believe it?

“I really believe that giving women the tools to decide their own futures and live healthy lives free of violence and discrimination is the most effective tool we have at changing the world for the better.”

Gushing over Melinda, the Deja Vu hitmaker noted that she is “one of the most inspiring women" she has ever met and praised the contribution she has made to empower women.

The songstress continued, “She’s generous and brave and has done so much good in this world. And I’m totally floored because as well as being in attendance here tonight she’s pledged to double every dollar that’ll be made here today – bringing the grand total of funds been donated to 20 million dollars.

“I’m so grateful,” she added.

Olivia then kicked off her show and debuted her new single Serena Joy and performed on multiple songs, including Stupid Song, Maggots For Brains as well as tracks from her latest album.

She also paid tribute to late Dolly Parton by bringing Sarah McLachlan on stage to perform her 1997 song Angel.
