My FanCam and Call Brief arrive on the Galaxy S26 as Samsung nears a stable release
Samsung isn't slowing down its One UI 9 beta cycle for the Galaxy S26 series—if anything, it's speeding up. Beta 7 landed just days after Beta 6, carrying the ZZHK build number and a modest 1.2GB download that varies by model and region.
Unlike recent updates focused on squashing bugs, Beta 7 brings real feature additions. My FanCam, Call Brief, and customisable Now Brief cards are all making their way to the S26 lineup after debuting weeks earlier on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8.
A new home screen search bar rounds out the update, alongside AI upgrades built into Samsung Browser and Gallery. Samsung also used the release to fix device rebooting issues and refine Do Not Disturb behaviour.
Samsung has released the Galaxy S26 FE with One UI 9 pre-installed, making it the first product in the S26 series with the complete version of the software rather than the beta one.
This timing clearly indicates that the release of the stable version of the main S26 models is not far off, despite the fact that Samsung has not said anything about testing another beta version as the eighth one.
However, Brief has expanded far beyond its initial weather and calendar briefings. Now it allows users to create custom briefing cards with prompts for various categories, including wellness and activity data collected in real time.
Call Brief takes a similar approach to calls by summarising their content. As for My FanCam, it keeps a specific person in focus while recording video just like the recent Samsung foldable models.
