Will Forte drops 'devastating' details ahead of 'Coyote vs. Acme' release

Will Forte has expressed his unfiltered feelings as his new Looney Tunes movie is set to hit theatres.

For those unaware, the 56-year-old American actor and comedian portrays Kevin Avery, a personal injury attorney in New Mexico, in the forthcoming live-action animated legal comedy film Coyote vs. Acme.

Since 2018, Coyote vs. Acme has been in development; however, Warner Bros. cancelled it for good in 2023. They had to face severe backlash for their decision and ended up selling it to Ketchup Entertainment in March 2025.

While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, Forte shared his excitement ahead of the movie’s release, admitting, “It has been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least.”

He said, “A lot of people worked incredibly hard on this movie. For the amount of complex stuff we had to do, it was such a well-oiled machine. So you get to the end of this, and you’re really close with all the people you work with and just have this feeling of pride and excitement about how the movie’s going to turn out.”

Reflecting on Warner Bros.’ decision to shelve the movie after spending years working on it, the Saturday Night Live star called it “devastating.”

Also, “That was confusing, especially since we had been hearing such positive progress reports,” Forte remarked.

It is pertinent to mention that Coyote vs. Acme is set to be released in cinemas in the United States on August 28, 2026. Watch the trailer here.
