Barry Keoghan's new romance with Danica Hall reportedly creating family tension
Barry Keoghan has reportedly asked his younger brother, Eric, to stay away from the set of the upcoming Beatles biopic amid tension involving his new girlfriend.
The 33-year-old actor, who plays Ringo Starr in the film, has been filming in London alongside several other cast members. However, Eric, who has previously worked as Barry's assistant on past projects, has not been seen at the set recently.
Source close to the family says Eric is currently living back in Ireland rather than staying with Barry near London. The insider explained that Barry is currently in the early stages of his relationship with girlfriend Danica Hall, and that she isn't particularly close with Eric.
"Barry is in the honeymoon phase with his new girlfriend, Danica Hall, and she is not Eric’s biggest fan. Barry decided it was best that Eric didn’t stay with him and he has not been seen at filming," the source told The Sun.
The insider suggested the distance may actually be beneficial for the brothers, noting, "Eric didn't always bring out the best in Barry so it is probably better that the brothers are not in each other’s pocket."
Barry and Eric share a close but difficult childhood. The brothers grew up in Dublin and spent years in foster care after their mother struggled with addiction. They eventually were raised by their aunt, who took on the responsibility of caring for them.His father, now dead, was not involved in their upbringing.
Their mother later passed away when Barry was just 12 years old, an experience Barry has said helped strengthen his bond with his brother.
Despite their history, sources suggest the siblings have grown more distant recently. Eric, who works in film production, was previously featured often on Barry's social media before Barry deleted his account.
Barry's relationship with Danica became public earlier this year. Sources say the two met through her work in the cosmetic industry, and friends say Barry has embraced a quieter, more private relationship with her, in contrast to his previous high-profile romance with singer Sabrina Carpenter.
"Neeka is totally in sync with Barry. She gets that he wants to live a quiet life and she is totally down with that," one insider shared, per Daily Mail. The source explained that Danica reminds Barry of his former partner Alyson Kierans, with whom he shares a young son.
