Anthropic’s top AI model Fable 5 struggles with corporate adoption: What we know

Anthropic’s top AI model is reportedly facing challenges in attracting users as more affordable AI tools continue to gain popularity, raising questions about the company’s capital-intensive model ahead of what is expected to be the biggest IPO of all time.

Anthropic’s largest and priciest model, Fable 5 has stabilized at only about 11 per cent of capital expenditure after its release.

Analysts and investors said that the significant change was mainly fueled by Fable’s high price and the fact that older models are functional and efficient; enough to handle the majority of commercial requests.

Breakthroughs in intelligence remain crucial to meet the company's extravagant commitments such as curing disease and to attract the best researchers.

Fable 5’s launch in early June was derailed by the Trump administration which forced Anthropic to recall the model by invoking national security protocols.

While concerns further restrict access to Fable have become less intense since its launch on July 1. Political uncertainty has become a minor factor compared with price or performance in shaping users’ technology selections.

In addition, Anthropic’s revenue growth took a hit in June after the government's decision to restrict the rollout of Fable, but it has since recovered.
