King Charles scratching his head as Prince Harry, Meghan Markle return to UK

King Charles is reportedly taken by surprise as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decide to return to the UK, six years after exiting.

His Majesty, who recently met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Highgrove House in July, was informed about the couples return only over the weekend.

Speaking about King Charles’s feelings amid the big change, Royal expert Jennie Bond writes for iPaper: “It seems to be the way they rock. Precious privacy, obsessive secrecy – and then wham bam, another bombshell. Yes, Harry and Meghan, we are indeed all gobsmacked. Furthermore, we are all left asking the same simple question: Why?”

He adds: “How much clearer it would all have been if he’d issued a statement explaining the decision and setting out at least some of the reasons behind it. It seems he didn’t even tell his father about it when he went for tea at Highgrove last month. The King must be left scratching his head and wondering why he was only informed about it last Sunday.”
