'Yellowjackets' returns with bigger suspense
Yellowjackets dropped a teaser for its final season.
The story of the psychological thriller revolves around a high school girls’ soccer team that eventually gets stuck in a remote northern wilderness after a devastating plane crash.
The freshly released teaser opens with an exciting note, hinting that the missing yellowjackets may have been found. “We are live with breaking news: The Wiskayok Yellowjackets have been found,” a news reporter said.
However, the previous season ended on a suspenseful note as the group appeared closer than ever to the rescue.
Sophie Nelisse played teenage Shauna Shipman in season 3 and shared the cast’s excitement about the previous season’s finale: “The finale is so fun. We were very excited about it.”
While Jasmine Savoy Brown, who portrayed the character of teenage Taissa Turner, revealed her reaction when she first got the script, “I think I dropped my script. I dropped it or threw it; I can’t remember. It might have been both.”
“It’s a big one. That one’s a doozy. I think people will be screaming at their TVs, like, oh my God, it’s such a good ending,” she further revealed at the time.
Previously, the co-creator of the series, Ashley Lyle, revealed to Entertainment Weekly in March 2023 that it is more important to give the series a satisfying conclusion rather than dragging it.
She said, “I think that there are shows that can go forever, but I think that when you’re telling such a deeply serialized story and it’s about these characters’ lives, you want to reach a satisfying conclusion and not just drag things out forever."
“This isn’t really one of those setup shows where it can go anywhere,” she added.
Yellowjackets season 4 is set to release on November 20, 2026, which is going to be the last season of the series.
