Anthony Michael Hall reflects on his bond with Marvel star Robert Downey Jr.
Anthony Michael Hall recently talked about his great bond with Robert Downey Jr. in recent interview.
The 61-year-old American actor and film producer appeared on Danielle Fishel’s Teen Beat podcast on Wednesday, August 19, where he opened up about his 40-year of friendship with Downey.
Hall told Fishel, “I’ve been there for him. Years ago when he was in trouble with the law, I spent a little time in the clink — so to speak — I went to visit him. We just have a long history together.”
For those unaware, the Marvel star was apprehended and faced weapon and drug charges in 1996. After parole violations, he spent three years in prison, serving a total of 15 months; however, then-California Gov. Jerry Brown pardoned Downey of the convictions in December 2015.
Notably, Downey, who calls his struggle with alcohol addiction and drugs “years of dependency, depravity, and despair,” has been sober since 2003.
It is pertinent to mention that Danielle Fishel and Robert Downey Jr. worked together in Weird Science and Saturday Night Live in the 1980s.
