Lindsay Clancy trial: Bombshell twist as judge cites two-word phrase to abruptly send jury home

Lindsay Clancy's murder trial has another explosive courtroom development when Judge William Sullivan suddenly excused the jury for tomorrow, citing an "unforeseen circumstance."

This reportedly abrupt decision comes after psychologist Dr. Paul Zeizel's testimony to jurors about the mother-of-three accused of murdering her three children.

According to him, Clancy still loves and misses Cora, Dawson, and Callan after he evaluated her for nearly an hour.

“She does speak about her children,” he said, adding, “She really loved them and misses them and thinks of them every single day, almost every moment of the day.”

However, prosecutors pushed back on Zeizel's assessment, calling it 'confirmation bias.'

But the psychologist had been persistent in his judgment as he already testified that Clancy had been suffering from what he diagnosed as 'bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis.'

Because of this condition, the clinical psychologist previously said on the stand, "She was unable to conform her behavior to the rule of law, and she had no appreciation for the wrongfulness of her act."

In addition, Zeizel said Clancy had fears of being separated from her children if state agencies became aware of her mental condition.

“Her concern was that when people could hear her thoughts, her children would be removed from her care,” he said, adding she was “having paranoid symptoms of psychosis."

Clancy previously had admitted to killing her three children at her Duxbury home in January 2023.
