Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET
GTA 6 has suffered from a major leak ahead of its upcoming extended look that is going to be released on Netflix on August 27.
New leaked assets include two gameplay videos featuring protagonist Jason playing basketball, driving an NPC and engaging in combat activities and an image of the full game map.
These leaked GTA 6 gameplay captures widely circulated on social media platforms. In the midst of hullabaloo, a group called Cyberleak took the responsibility for gameplay leak, stating it had targeted Rockstar Games and Take-Two over the lack of physical disc version of the game.
CyberLeek’s manifesto criticizes the shift toward an all-digital future, "fake" single-player DLC, the removal of paid single-player content, and the lack of physical discs.
The groups also warned that more leaks are expected to come but the original posts with the leaked footage have been removed for copyright violations. The group threatened other major video game publishers, stating that if they can breach Rockstar, no publisher is safe.
“If CYBERLEEK can reach Rockstar, no one is safe. This is a message to all big corpo: behave, or be the next target,” the group said on its website.
The leak heavily promotes a memecoin, raising a strong community concern that the leak is a cryptocurrency scam. GTA 6 suffered this heavy blow days before when its Extended look would to be released on Netflix on August 27, remaining exclusive to Netflix for 6 hours before showcasing on YouTube.
This is not the first time Rockstar Games has suffered from such a major leak. In December 2023, the official announcement trailer leaked on X/Twitter hours before its planned premiere, forcing an early launch.
In April 2026, Rockstar confirmed a third-party data breach accessed company information, though it reportedly had no impact on players.
Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive have not yet issued an official statement to the CyberLeek leak. But they are actively working to remove the leaked videos across social media.
GTA 6 is officially slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
