Charlize Theron urged to reveal Hollywood predator's name after Hayden Panettiere death

A day after Hayden Panettierre’s sudden death, Charlize Theron has been urged to disclose the name of the filmmaker who sexually harassed her at what was supposed to be her audition.

An old clip of Theron surfaced online where she revealed that someone who is “a very big deal “in Hollywood invited her to his home on a Saturday night, sat very close to her and put his hand on her knee.

The actress, however, didn’t reveal the name of the man. Sharing her interview on X, journalist and author Megan Basham wrote, “In light of the Hayden Panettierre story Stern’s recent interview with Charlize Theron is so disturbing. She acknowledges that someone who is “a very big deal“ in Hollywood acted as sexual predator towards her, but she won’t name him. So she’s leaving other young actresses to be preyed upon by whoever this man is. She’s one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and she can’t say who it was and help protect the next generation? If not an A Lister like her, who?”

Commenting on the clip, one user wrote, “Why not mention his name? Why continue to allow him to continue? So sick.”

“It's not as easy as it looks. Part of the whole reason why Weinstein and Cosby were convicted decades later is because they are powerful people,” said another.

Hayden Panettiere, known for playing a cheerleader with superpowers and a country music star on the television shows "Heroes" and "Nashville" respectively, died, aged ‌36, her family said in a statement issued by her publicist on Sunday.

The two-time Golden Globe nominee was found unresponsive at an apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina, and pronounced dead at the scene, the city's police department said in a statement. Her death was being investigated, but there were no signs of foul play, the police said.

An excerpt of a 911 call showed medics confirming to a dispatcher they were responding to an "overdose" at the address and trying to resuscitate an unresponsive woman.
