A demo unit slip-up at Pixel 11's India launch may have confirmed what Google has been quietly building for months. The pop-up message “Try Harry Potter themes” appeared on a Pixel 11 series phone at the launch event, noticed by Adamya Sharma from Android Authority, despite the fact that Google hasn’t officially announced the theme pack yet.
The pop-up message was seen on a demo phone at the launch event, while efforts to open or activate the theme pack were unsuccessful.
It’s unlikely that Google will officially announce the date of its release, which is why the appearance of the pop-up message may be considered an interesting occurrence, rather than confirmation of the information.
This is not the first time Harry Potter content has been discovered on the Pixel phone's software. Earlier this year, reports of preparations for themed branded content related to Harry Potter were seen in April.
Earlier evidence revealed the presence of three different themes in the works, namely Harry, Hogwarts and Magic, which would all be accompanied by their own unique set of ringtones, alarms and notification tones according to the theme.
Google launched the Pixel theme packs last year, providing the user with the ability to download wallpaper, icons, system sound and even animated elements in one tap of the button.
So far, Wicked and SpongeBob theme packs have joined the collection, with Harry Potter being the next addition to the series.
