Prince William, Kate Middleton’s ‘protective’ but accepting parenting draws praise

Prince William and Kate Middleton, despite being known for preferring privacy for their children have been taking them out more and more in the last couple of months, and its largely due to the fact that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are already becoming a big part of the British Royal Family’s image, despite their young ages.

Moreover, the exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has also paved the way for public attention to fall even more on the Windsors, whether that be because they are considered the ‘future’, or because the Sussex approach is to completely shroud their children in privacy.

But now, with Prince George being the first of the Windsor kids to move home to Eton College, the author of The Windsor Legacy, Mr Robert Jobson has sat down with HELLO! To discuss a bit of their impact on the world, at length.

He started by saying that even the Windsor parents seem to have bended to this reality because “the children are the future royal family, so William and Kate accept that they need to be seen in public sometimes.”

Moreover, while its true they are “still very protective” Mr Jobson added, “in certain situations, it works, and I think this worked really well.” Another thing he noted is that, “it’s also good for the kids without overwhelming them.”

He also highlighted their most recent appearance, which was at the Commonwealth Games in 2026 near the end. His concluding words were, “They’re very natural when they’re out – they sat among the crowd and weren’t given special treatment. They know they get privileges and I’m sure they’re told that it’s a great honour for them to meet these athletes.”
