Is GTA 6 Online coming? Here’s Take-Two’s latest hint

Take-Two still hasn't confirmed GTA 6 Online exists, but CEO Strauss Zelnick's choice of words during Friday's earnings call did most of the confirming for him.

Speaking after the company reported $1.39 billion in first-quarter bookings, Zelnick said Take-Two expects to "sustain this new level of scale and generate strong cash flows" well beyond Grand Theft Auto VI's November launch.

The phrasing matters more than it first appears. A single-player game, however dominant its opening months, typically produces one enormous spike in revenue rather than a sustained plateau.

Zelnick's use of "cash flows", plural, points toward more than one ongoing revenue stream feeding into the years after launch, an implicit nod to whatever online component Rockstar eventually reveals for Grand Theft Auto VI.

Zelnick characterised the pre-orders for the launch on November 19th as “unprecedented” and "astonishing", but without giving any actual numbers. Nevertheless, Take-Two decided not to alter its guidance for fiscal 2027 net bookings, which remained unchanged at $8.0 to $8.2 billion.

"We've sold nothing yet," Zelnick noted. "It is very easy to put in a pre-order, but you can take it back. We don’t think it’s prudent to call victory until you get the victory."

This guidance is still lower than the estimate of $8.62 billion by Wall Street, and the stock dropped by about 1.9%.

Rockstar is confirming Grand Theft Auto VI as a solo title but has not released any information regarding its online version.

The same can be seen in the case of Netflix, where the studio is planning another Extended Look on the title on 27 August and the YouTube release six hours after that, just like it was done with the first Extended Look.
