Sayana Spiro issues statement after cancelling Newport Jazz Fest performance

Sayana Spiro has issued her first statement after cancelling her performance at the Newport Jazz Festival at the last moment.

The 20-year-old singer took to her Instagram handle on Sunday and revealed that she had to cancel a show due to a throat infection.

"Newport, I'm so sorry to have to do this, but under doctor's orders I won't be performing at Newport Jazz Festival today," Sayana singer penned on Instagram.

"I've completely lost my voice due to an infection, and unfortunately I'm not able to put on the show you all deserve," she continued.

The Back To Blonde hitmaker then apologized to her fans who were disappointed.

"I'm especially sorry to anyone who travelled, I was looking forward to this for so long and it breaks my heart that I can't," she wrote.

Concluding the statement, Sayana added, Thank you so much for your understanding, and I promise I'll make it up to you as soon as I can."

The Die on This Hill songstress was scheduled to perform at the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island on Sunday, August 2.

It is worth noting that Sienna released her debut album, The Visitor, on July 3, 2026.
