King Charles, Prince William ‘fallout’ could be disaster recipe for monarchy

King Charles and Prince William potential fallout could create problems for the monarchy.

His Majesty, who often does not see ITI with older son Prince William, could hamper the institution over any argument and estrangement.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: "The most disastrous thing that could happen to the monarchy would be a falling out between King Charles and Prince William, who together with his family, is its future.

"The King would obviously be unwise to approach this without [his older son’s] support as it could be incendiary. This presents a huge challenge for whoever succeeds Sir Clive!"

This comes as The King’s right-hand man, Sir Clive Alderton, quits after 20 years of service.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “I know Their Majesties are deeply grateful to Sir Clive for his tireless support and wise counsel over the years, and for the enduring loyalty that will ensure a smooth transition to his successor.”
