Viola Davis enraged after Black teen shooter walks free

Viola Davis wrote an emotional yet blistering post on social media over the recent jury's verdict.

A South Carolina jury has not found guilty a store owner who fatally shot a Black teenager.

Chikei Rick Chow, who is Asian, suspected Cyrus Carmack-Belton of stealing four water bottles.

Following the verdict, actress Viola Davis is fuming.

She framed the decision around race and justice in America, sparking a renewed debate over a hot-button issue.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote an emotional, blistering post, questioning how the shooting of a young Black boy could be a justified response.

"So... the shooting and murder of a young Black boy over the suspected theft of four water bottles was a justified response?"

The Oscar winner referred to the racial laws of the 19th century by writing, "Explain to me again that we are not living in Jim Crow."

"Explain to me how we are NOT seen as less than human."

Davis condemned everyone involved in the case, penning, "Shame on the shooters. Shame on the hunters. Shame on the judge. Shame on the jurors."

"And in this case, shame on our justice system for making space for all of it."

Capping off, Davis paid an emotional tribute to the victim and its family: "My heart breaks for Cyrus and its family. I am deeply sorry."
