Explosions heard in Kuwait as air defences intercept missiles and drones, Kuwaiti military says

Kuwait’s military says its air defence systems intercepted hostile missiles and drones targeting the country’s airspace on Tuesday, after residents reported hearing explosions in several areas.
In a statement, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said the sounds heard across the country were caused by defence systems “intercepting and neutralizing the incoming threats”.
The military did not immediately provide details about the origin of the missiles or drones, nor whether any damage or casualties had been reported.
Authorities urged residents to remain calm and follow official security and safety instructions issued by the relevant agencies.
The General Staff said Kuwait’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country and protect its airspace from any threats.
“The armed forces remain fully prepared to safeguard the country’s security and protect its airspace against any threats,” the statement added.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions across the Gulf region following ongoing military escalation linked to the conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
