Britney Spears’ son has made a subtle change in identity after a recent reunion with the popstar.

In a surprising move, Sean, 20, has updated his Instagram name to include his mother’s surname, now going by “Sean P Spears” instead of using only his father Kevin Federline’s last name, TMZ reported.

He previously went by "Sean Preston" before the addition. The move comes shortly after he reunited with Spears during a yacht getaway.

The rare reunion saw Sean posing with his mother and younger brother, Jayden James. While Jayden has been seen with Spears more frequently, Sean’s appearance happens to be a less common public moment between the mother-son duo.

Reports previously suggested Sean had refused to spend the holidays with Spears last year, leaving the singer hurt at the time. However, recent photos are an indication that the relationship may be improving.

The reunion also comes amid a challenging period for Spears, who was taken into custody in March on suspicion of DUI in California before being released the next day. After the incident, sources said both of her sons were supporting her.

Spears later returned to social media with moments featuring her family and thanking fans for their support.
