Becky G opens up about private ‘painful heartbreak’

Becky G just opened up about her "extremely painful" public and private "heartbreak" when she called off her engagement.

The 29-year-old singer and actress got engaged to Sebastian Lletget, in December 2022 after six years of dating,

However, she ended things with the professional footballer just three months later after cheating allegations were made against him.

Becky has now opened up for the first time about being "betrayed" on the Call Her Daddy podcast, admitting she even found it hard to "trust" herself afterwards.

"I took my ring off, I called off my engagement,” she recalled.

Becky continued, "There are things here that took place behind closed doors privately between me and this person who I love and care for deeply, who I’ve been betrayed by... But the thing about betrayal is it doesn’t just make you not trust the other person, you don’t trust yourself anymore.”

"I’ve never talked about this, so I’m thankful for the safe space to be able to talk about it because some of the stuff that I was challenged with, there’s a private heartbreak that’s taking place, and then there’s a public heartbreak that’s taking place and both are extremely painful,” the MAMIII singer explained.

She further mentioned, "But what was, I think, the hardest part for me to navigate through was giving myself that space and grace and make that decision for myself."

Even though Becky and Sebastian have gotten back together, the singer has admitted that their relationship "never be the same" as it was during their earlier years together.

"It’ll never be the same again. Like, something about that was actually exciting,” Becky said, adding, "There can be something new and it’s like, I’m not the same version of myself that I was when I was 19 when you first met me.”

Back in March 2023, Sebastian did address the cheating allegations, posting on Instagram, "During a moment I regret deeply, a 10-minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot."

"Since this person did not get what they wanted, it has now become a public social media spectacle filled with more lies than any truth and false posts aimed at the love of my life, the one person I should never take for granted or put at risk," Becky G's partner further mentioned at that time.
