A large number of X users on Tuesday complained they were unable to copy video links, with many sharing memes and conspiracy theories about why the issue was occurring.

Some supporters of Donald Trump claimed the president appeared to ignore Elon Musk on camera and speculated that the platform’s owner had disabled the feature in response.

Others simply expressed frustration, criticising X for preventing them from sharing video links as they previously could..

According to a social media expert, X has updated its mobile app, making it harder for users to directly copy links to videos and sparking online complaints.

He said the interface change has triggered conspiracy theories claiming censorship and content suppression.

However, the feature has not been removed. Users can still copy links to posts containing videos via the Share icon and selecting “Copy link to Post.”
