Princess Anne has continued to be in contact with her brother former Duke of York Andrew following his arrest after release of Epstein files.
Royal expert Richard Kay has made these claims in his piece for Mail Plus.
He writes with title, “Princess Anne's secret phone call to Andrew, how she reacted to his arrest... and surprising offer she made to him.”
The royal expert said the Princess Royal is famously ‘inscrutable’, but when she does intervene publicly it is always worth taking note.
Richard went on claiming until last Christmas at least, Princess Anne was still holding a ‘sympathetic’ and ‘tolerant’ line towards Andrew.
“She apparently made a point of telephoning Royal Lodge, where he was still holed up, on Christmas Day when the rest of the family were at Sandringham,” the expert revealed.
Moreover, the expert said but the Princess Royal has also been ‘angry’ with Andrew for his links to Jeffrey Epstein and the shadow they have cast over the royals, and has questioned him about them.
Earlier, amid calls to remove Andrew from Royal Lodge, the expert revealed, Anne had raised the idea of moving him to her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire as a bolthole.
“This was not just an act of Christian charity but a willingness to surround him with family love – and totally in character.”
However, after the emergence of compromising photographs and damaging claims about him allegedly passing confidential government information to Epstein and others in his circle, Anne recognised it had become harder to defend Andrew.
