“His prognosis is positive and he is grateful for the excellent care he is receiving.”

The 83-year-old Republican senator from Kentucky missd votes in the Senate on Monday and Tuesday, according to Politico.

McConnell, a polio survivor, has faced several health challenges in recent years, including falls and mobility issues.

In 2023, McConnell suffered a concussion after falling at a Washington hotel, which led to him briefly using a wheelchair.

He has also drawn attention during press conferences after appearing to freeze or become unresponsive during public appearances.

McConnell served as Republican leader in the Senate from 2007 to 2025 and played a major role in shaping the federal judiciary.
