Google is expanding its artificial intelligence tools once again, this time inside Google Photos, as the company introduces a new feature called 'Me Meme' that lets users turn their own photos into personalised memes.
The AI tool is expected to roll out to users in the US and can be found in the Create section of the app.
The Me Mem feature enables users to generate a funny and instantly sharable picture with a set of templates. The user first needs to select a template, upload a photo, and then tap generate. The AI then instantly generates a meme that the user can save or share with friends and family, all in just a few taps in Google Photos.
To use the feature, users open Google Photos, hit Create, then select Me Meme. From there, they choose a template, add a photo and generate the image.
Google claims the tool is designed to help people create funny, personalised images without having to rely on third-party apps.
This feature is also termed as 'experimental', thus meaning it may be unavailable during the initial roll-out. Me Meme is also not confirmed whether it will launch globally or even if it is to remain a permanent Photos app function.
