Reba McEntire reveals Dolly Parton's kind gesture after losing band in deadly crash

Reba McEntire recalled a past tragic incident of a plane crash that killed eight of her fellow band members.

The Grammy winning artist recently opened up about the 1991 plane crash, reflecting how her fellow country stars showed support during the heartbreaking moment.

The incident occurred after Reba and her band performed in San Diego and seven members of her team left the city on the unfortunate flight while Reba, her husband and her stylist were set to take another plane the next day.

After the traumatizing incident, the idea of performing on stage felt difficult. It was the moment when fellow country star Dolly Parton came in to support her.

"It was really hard for me to get back onstage," Reba looked back in an interview with Garden & Gun.

"But Vince Gill called and said, 'Buddy, I’ll be there for you.' Dolly Parton said, 'Here, take my band.'"

She went on to say, "It was such a gift to see how many people stepped forward to help, and to reassure, because so many of us had hearts that were broken."

Back in March 2024, the Happy's Place star paid a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the plane crash on her social media.

“I guess the world ain’t gonna stop… for my broken heart,” she wrote. “33 years today since Heaven gained some great angels.Rest in peace, my friends.”
