Taylor Swift appears to be not only making records in the music industry but also in Hollywood, as her concert films achieve record-breaking success.
The 35-year-old pop superstar released The Official Release Party of a Showgirl on her album, The Life of a Showgirl release weekend, which featured exclusive interviews detailing the inspirations behind the new songs, The Fate of a Ophelia music video premiere, as well as behind-the-scenes clips.
The 90-minute film was released in collaboration with AMC theatres for a three-day run, and the company’s CEO, Adam Aron, observed a surprising rise in the business revenues because of Swifties crowding in for the cinematic event.
Speaking at the Q3 earnings call, Aron said a special message to the Grammy winner, saying, “I say this with all the sincerity I can muster: Thank you, Taylor. We are so proud to be a small part of your team.”
The Opalite hitmaker contributed to taking the company’s market share to 36% from its usual 24%.
The Eras Tour performer’s movie generated a huge sum of $50 million worldwide, adding to the album’s commercial success, which has achieved multiple milestones since its October release.
Swift’s 2023 Eras Tour film was also distributed by AMC theatres and held the No.1 spot at the box office throughout the release weekend.
The Lover songstress has more cinema projects lined up, including the Eras Tour: The End of an Era documentary, which will be released on December 12.
