World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day is observed across the globe on July 28 (today) to raise awareness about this harmful disease. Around 10 million people are affected by hepatitis in Pakistan. According to some experts, Pakistan has among the highest prevalence of Hepatitis C.

And the WHO estimats that across the world more than 400 million people live with Hepatitis B and C and 1.4 million die every year. Hepatitis can be prevented through awareness that could help improve vaccinations, and teach about safe blood transfusions and unsafe injection use. Unfortunately, this day is usually neglected in our country.
