ISLAMABAD: Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti has issued an arrest warrant for former KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in liquor and illegal arms possession case. Expressing displeasure over Gandapur’s continued absence, the judge ordered his arrest and production before the court. The hearing was adjourned until October 28. The case is registered at the Bara Kahu Police Station.
In a separate case, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad heard the case against several PTI leaders accused of protesting against alleged election rigging. The court expressed displeasure over the absence of accused and issued arrest warrants for them. ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra heard the case.
During the hearing, PTI leaders Ali Bukhari, Aamir Mughal and others failed to appear, prompting the court to issue bailable arrest warrants, The court instructed police to arrest and produce them at next hearing. However, PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen’s request for an exemption from personal appearance was accepted.
In another case, Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majuka adjourned hearings on appeals filed by PTI workers against sentences awarded under PAPO Act and other sections of law, directing all relevant case records be presented at next hearing.
During the proceedings, police failed to produce the case files, prompting Judge Majuka to express displeasure and order strict compliance for next hearing. In yet another case, Special Judge (Central) Islamabad Humayun Dilawar cancelled bail of two accused — one male and one female — involved in an alleged fraud case within Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA).
Following bail cancellation, Patwari Zakir Hussain was arrested in the courtroom, while female accused Uzma Batool escaped from the premises. According to the FIA, Zakir is accused of registering fake co-owners in supplementary award of Sector G-14/3, abuse of authority and illegally issuing plots to unrelated individuals.
