ISLAMABAD: Consumers will get some relief in October as the federal government on Tuesday announced a Rs6.7 per kilogramme cut in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, a 3.13 per cent drop, following a steep decline in the Saudi Aramco contract price (CP).
The price cut brings LPG down to Rs207.5 per kilogramme, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) said in a notification. The new rates take effect on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 (today).
A domestic cylinder weighing 11.8 kilogrammes will now cost Rs2,448, down by Rs79 from the previous Rs2,527. Commercial users will also see savings, with the 45.4kg cylinder dropping to Rs9,420.Ogra attributed the reduction to a 3.78 per cent fall in the Saudi Aramco CP, which sets LPG producer prices, partially offset by a 0.23 per cent rise in the rupee-dollar exchange rate.
