A senior member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Syed Manzoor Abbas, also member of the party’s provincial media cell, passed away on Sunday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Abbas was associated with the PPP since his student life and was among workers considered the ideological cadre of the party. He served in various offices, including Karachi division’s deputy secretary information; district East’s secretary information, PS-121 constituency’s president and advisory councilor in the party in Karachi. During the party’s movement against dictatorship of Ziaul Haq, he participated in the struggle and was consequently jailed. His funeral would be offered at Masjid Imambargah Hussaini Sifaratkhana, in Malir.

Bilawal’s condolences

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed grief and sorrow over Abbas’ demise. In a condolence message to the family Bilawal paid rich tributes to the dedicated PPP worker for his sacrifices and hard work for the party, both as a worker as well as a member of the PPP’s Sindh Media Cell.
