Hilaria Baldwin is opening up about her marriage to Alec Baldwin and how their 26-year age difference shapes their relationship.
During her appearance on the Uncut and Uncensored with Caroline Stanbury podcast, the 41-year-old yoga instructor and author spoke candidly about navigating life with her 67-year-old husband, whom she married in 2012.
"I don't believe that age is just a number, at least in our situation," Hilaria said.
"I think that there's certain things where I have to look at him and say he has 26 more years of experience. And sometimes that's a flex, and sometimes that means that we need to do a little therapy."
Reflecting on the lessons she has learned from their relationship, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant shared that one of the biggest takeaways has been realizing “you can’t please everybody.”
She added that by the time someone reaches their 40s, “you know what you want,” which she believes strengthens a relationship.
"That's a beautiful thing, you know, for your relationship ... you know what you want, and there's probably a confidence that you have now that is extremely sexy and extremely just comforting," she said.
"Whereas the ups and the downs and the insecurities that we often have when we're younger and not knowing ourselves. I think that that is only a gift that comes with age."
Hilaria and Alec share seven children together — Carmen Gabriela, 12, Rafael Thomas, 10, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 9, Romeo Alejandro David, 7, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 5, María Lucía Victoria, 4, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2.
Alec is also father to Ireland Baldwin, 30, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
