- Born on 14 November 1981 in Orange, Ohio, U.S.
- Has a brother, musician Jonah.
- Was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at age 15. Underwent chemotherapy to reach remission.
- Graduated from the Annenberg School for Communication of the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in communications and French.
- Gained recognition as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, appearing in the sketch comedy series from 2010 to 2017.
- Has since appeared in the comedy series I Love That for You (2022) – which was loosely based on her experience as a survivor of childhood leukaemia – and films including Office Christmas Party (2016), Ibiza (2018), and Wander Darkly (2020).
- Published the children’s book How Do You Care for a Very Sick Bear? in 2019.
