King Charles III's sister honours the 'sacrifices made in the hope of peace and a better world'

Princess Anne shared some touching words honouring the courage and sacrifice of soldiers in a touching new video released by Buckingham Palace.

The video, posted to the royal family’s official Instagram account on November 11, features clips of the Princess Royal and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, during their recent four-day tour of Australia. Over the footage, Anne’s emotional voiceover pays tribute to those who served.

“Remember courage and endurance. Remember allies, mates, side by side. Remember the call to arms and the loved ones left behind. Remember the carnage and horror of war, and those who returned forever changed. But above all, we remember the sacrifices made in the hope of peace and a better world — a hope dear to our hearts and a hope we strive for today,” King Charles III’s sister says in the clip.

In the caption, Buckingham Palace explained that the visit marked the 100th anniversary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals.

“As Colonel-in-Chief, Her Royal Highness attended Services of Remembrance in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, where she spent time with serving troops, veterans, and their families,” the post read.

Following her visit, the Princess Royal and Sir Tim are traveling to Singapore, where they will mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and the city-state.
