Meta commits $600 billion to invest in US AI infrastructure in historic expansion

Meta Platforms had announced a massive plan to invest over $600 billion in the U.S. infrastructure and jobs, focused primarily on the expansion of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centre network to power its AI ambitions.

The investment is aimed at accelerating Meta’s AI ambitions, committing hundreds of billions of dollars to build several large AI data centres and further plans to meet computing needs.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg told the U.S. President Donald Trump said that Meta will invest at least $600 billion in the U.S. in the next coming years at a White House dinner in September.

The current strategic move is aggressively increasing capacity to prepare for the most promising growth opportunities.

Meta has anticipated substantially growing capital expenses next year for investments in artificial intelligence, including expansion of data centres to power its AI push.

The social media giant secured $27 billion as part of a big financial deal with Blue Owl Capital to fund its Louisiana data centre, marking one of its biggest projects globally.

Meta’s utmost commitment to invest billions in U.S. infrastructure opens new avenues for the future of Artificial Intelligence and for maintaining America’s technological digital edge in the global AI race.
