Amie Lou Wood couldn’t hold back her disgust as she watched Sydney Sweeney defend her American Eagle ad which had been accused of carrying racist undertones.

The British actress, 31, made her feelings clear about her fellow White Lotus star after Sydney brushed off backlash surrounding her American Eagle campaign, which erupted in controversy the summer.

The ad — titled “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans” — sparked outrage in July this year for allegedly playing on the phrase “good genes,” a slogan many critics said echoed eugenicist ideas of genetic superiority.

Renowned photographer Misan Harriman reignited the debate this week after posting an Instagram clip of Sydney’s November 4th GQ interview, in which the Anyone But You actress downplayed the criticism.

Aimee quickly made her feelings known by commenting on Harriman’s post with a nauseated-face emoji, according to the Daily Mail.

“I did a jean ad,” says Sydney in the clip, who is currently promoting her latest boxing film, Christy. “The reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.”

Harriman wasn’t impressed, accusing the actress of ignoring the harm caused by the ad. “Presuming that you are not a white supremacist, at least say how horrified you were by how this campaign was amplified and celebrated by unrepentant racists,” he wrote, urging her to “recognize the harm your jeans campaign has caused black folk.”

Aimee’s reaction drew hundreds of likes and supportive messages from fans, as many joined her in flooding the comments section with nauseated and throwing up emojis.
