Azans in mosques begin after channels telecast Erdogan’s message

President sent his recorded message after which major portion of social media was closed

ISLAMABAD: According to Reuters, as the rebellion started by a faction of the military, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan using mobile application FaceTime called his supporters to stop the rebels. The Turkish media also repeated the president’s call time and again.

Immediately after the appeal by the president, Azans started in the mosques of Turkey. After the president recorded his statement and sent it to media and his supporters, a major portion of social media was blocked.

The president’s message was shown by over 70 channels repeatedly. Calls were made through loudspeakers urging the people to resist the rebels. Videos of Azans were also shown repeatedly by channels. CNN also telecast the call of the Turkish president.

The Turkish opposition putting aside their differences took a united stand against the rebels’ group. President Erdogan said on FaceTime that the rebels would be brought before the court.
